Summer has arrived even though it may not feel like it lately. And with summer what would it be without that great game "cricket" the pure ingenious craftsmanship by the big fellow himself and some might say a match made in heaven.I speak of cricket to friends and workmates some have a few good things to say but mainly I find negative responses with comments such as*why do they wear whites, why do they wear colours, why do they take 5 days to play a game,it's so boring, and the most common "I can only tolerate the one dayers because there over in a day"...Hmmm maybe that's why there one dayers!
You see for me a 31 yr old tomboy thru and thru who was first introduced to the game at about 6yrs old I played school grade and regional levels and was named in a nsw development squad when I was 16 not to mention the indoor spin on the game. From this exposure to the sport the passion and feel for the game grows on you and I think it,s a feeling that once you have will never lose. That's why it's so hard to explain to people the amount of enjoyment you get from it,they just don't understand or feel or even see it's beauty, yes I said beauty. It,s graceful, skillful, tactical, highly competitive and requires a certain etiquette and poise to take part.So when people say ohh god 5 days is too long well remember"all good things come to those who wait"and teaches us that patience and persistence can achieve positive outcomes!
*Now onto the ashes series The GABBA- well well well the old avengers knocked clean off their perches in the very first came.A whitewash I felt a demoralizing defeat, but lets not think too far ahead remember what happened last series!Ponting is batting like a freak of nature the boys on fire and our own war horse spearheading our attack, reflecting rumor's he has passed his used by date and almost single handing ly annihilating the opposition OOH AHH Glen McGrath!
*The SACCA-Poms collingwood makes a double,he does have gingerish hair so I can see why this may have happened and peiterson a tonne as well good on you for fleeing your land South Africa the ex home of the apartheid and becoming a red blooded barmy army recruit!
Warnie the genius maestro has waved his conductor stick and took the game right out of the pommies hands with great batting firstly followed by awesome bowling to help the others lift and belt them out of the game instilling a victory for the green caps
